Charrette

development, focusing on charrettes (public design workshops). The seminar
addresses how best to organize the public process and the most effective ways to
conduct a charrette. Participants should include anyone who wants to learn about
the collaborative planning process, including elected officials, planning staff,
developers, and concerned citizens.

offered in conjunction with the National Charrette Institute (NCI) and organized
as two modules: an introductory one-day course with open enrollment followed by
an intensive two-day course limited to 35 participants. Upon completion of the
course (parts I and II), attendees are certified by NCI as charrette planners.
Part I,

takes place March 2. This one-day seminar provides an overview of the NCI
Dynamic Planning process, followed by a panel featuring charrette planners from
leading new urbanist design firms. Part II, Continuing Dynamic Planning:

fundamentals of designing and running a successful charrette. The lead course
